The Research & Measurement Specialist is a mid-level member of the Access Intelligence team whose primary responsibility is to provide an additional layer of analysis for agency staff and clients by illustrating and interpreting findings in accordance with standard PR measurement methodologies. Successful candidates will manage coverage tracking, research services, data collection, scoring and analysis for some of the most innovative companies of our time. Working alongside a creative team of PR professionals will provide successful candidates with a “behind the scenes” perspective of public relations and communications.

    About the job

    • Provide research services including news coverage tracking, social media monitoring, subject-based research and market research
    • Synthesize data and research trends from a variety of sources to develop strategic insights
    • Circulate coverage as part of regularly scheduled coverage reports and share relevant breaking news coverage in real-time 
    • Create presentations, charts, graphs, etc. from gathered data to illustrate and interpret findings
    • Measurement: read and assess client coverage and track for KPIs to measure program results and merchandise beyond the PR organization
    • Make recommendations to team members and account teams on different research methodologies, illustrations and insights
    • Articulate insights and findings to teams in a way that makes sense to the audience and is applicable to the client’s business and goals
    • Review and analyze compiled research and data sets and provide written summaries of trends, learnings and other key takeaways
    • Coordinate with account managers to ensure quality and accuracy of ongoing measurement and coverage tracking programs
    • Complete ad-hoc reporting assignments for all account teams and new business efforts 


    • Bachelor’s degree; relevant courses or field of study preferably in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Sociology, Information Science, Library Science or related field
    • 1-2 years of experience utilizing advanced researching skills to gather information from public and private databases and news services
    • Proven ability to synthesize data into highly relevant business insights
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with website analytics tools such as Google Analytics
    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • Experience in PR agency environment a plus
    • Experience with Meltwater, Sysomos, ComScore and CisionPoint preferred
    • Proven ability to meet multiple/conflicting deadlines and prioritize assignments
    • Basic understanding of statistics and ability to calculate and interpret meaningful statistical findings in excel using compiled data on sometimes short deadlines
