Access Brand Communications is looking for an post-graduate intern to join our growing San Francisco Account Management team in September 2021. This intern will be post-graduate (opportunity for extension and full-time entry-level opportunities).


As an intern, you will be charged with learning and becoming proficient in core categories of public relations, focused on developing media relations skills, meeting client needs and executing elements of PR programs. The intern should strive for personal and professional growth, learning to provide account teams with exceptional value and service.

About the job

This internship is 35 hours/week (5 days/week, 7-hour days), and is 3 months in length with the opportunity of extension up to 6 months and full-time opportunities.


Like the rest of our agency, this intern will work from home until we officially reopen our office closer to 2021. While the role will remain flexible to work from home once the office is reopened, this role will require some in-office days to support teams with on-the-ground needs such as product fulfillment, prepping client materials, etc. 


While working in San Francisco, CA is ideal, we are open to this intern working remotely in the Pacific time zone. 


  • Develop and main media lists
  • Monitor and track media; report trends, create reports as needed
  • Prepare pitch letters and assist with media outreach on behalf of clients as instructed
  • Assist in developing press materials, including fact sheets, backgrounders and press releases
  • Help with social media content creation and report 
  • Respond to requests for information from clients, account staff and other agency employees
  • Attend client meetings, conference calls, team brainstorms and meetings as directed by your supervisor
  • Write client and/or team memos
  • Assist with online research to support client projects and/or new business opportunities
  • Assist with event coordination and logistics


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English or related field
  • Ability to work 35 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months (can scale to 40 hours based on workload and approval)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of social media
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and willingness to work on a variety of projects
  • Previous PR or marketing internships a plus, but not required
