  • Overview

    Access is currently looking for a Vice President to join our energetic, passionate and tight-knit New York office. The candidate should have a deep consumer background – ideally with personal health and wellness experience – and should be well versed in counseling senior-level clients. Key responsibilities will include account leadership and oversight, developing strategic and creative PR programs and closely monitoring their execution and results; helping to navigate clients through various challenges (internally/externally). The candidate we want is an engaging team builder and leader, having superior verbal and written communications skills, having strong presentation skills, encouraging a team approach to management, being self-motivated, and being dedicated to achieving client satisfaction and internal goals.

    About the job

    • Serve as senior contact for clients, with an in-depth knowledge of clients’ business, develop strategy for implementing successful client programs;
    • Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address client needs;
    • Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others;
    • Help drive strategic and creative planning process for accounts;
    • Navigate integrated agency team structure;
    • Motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback; encourage teams to take advantage of training and development opportunities;
    • Help account team(s) work effectively and in the best interests of client(s); maximize agency’s network of resources to enhance client services;
    • Be proficient in writing and editing materials, including communications programs, client correspondences and reports;
    • Take a leadership role in business development and presentations; work with account teams to build incremental business;
    • Manage account financials, including budget allocation and control, time sheets, client billing, supplier invoicing and purchase orders; ensure team billability and account profitability

    Qualifications

    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree in a communications field desirable.
    • At least 8 years of agency and/or consumer public relations experience, as well as account responsibility for large, multi-discipline client relationships.
    • Broad-based exposure to all skill areas, including creative and strategic planning, writing and presentations, media relations, and consultative selling.
